Rosa Nell Amos

Ms. Rosa Nell Amos age 87, of Sardis City passed away Thursday, June 17, 2021 at her home. Her funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, 20, 2021 at Etowah Memorial Chapel with burial to follow at Sardis Cemetery. Bro. Ron Hays will officiate the service. Music will be provided by Jackie Collins. Pallbearers will be Nathan Felton, Shayne Felton, Roger Golden, Shane Nation, Wayne Hubbard, Shannon Collins. Honorary pallbearers will be the staff and prayer partners of WBSA. Visitation will be from 12:30 until 2 before the service. She is survived by her children, Danny Amos and Vicky Lynn Amos Gregg, grandchildren, Michael Amos, Joseph Amos (Kandi), Angel Eaton and Kevin Gregg, three great-grandchildren, brother, Jackie Collins, sister, Anita Felton (Shayne), four step-sisters, one step-brother and a host of nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, J. D. Amos, son, David Amos, grandson, Tommy Amos, great-grandson, Trizton Amos, parents, Gene and Verna (Engle) Collins, step-mother, Pauline Collins, brothers, Billy, Jerry, Travis, Troy and Donald Collins, and sisters, Evelyn Collins and Nancy Norgan, Son-in-law, Larry Gregg, Daughters-in-law, Andie Amos, Mary Jane Amos. Ms. Rosa Nell Amos was a member of Sardis Baptist Church. She was a resident of Sardis City for 65 years. Rosa was the second born child of nine to Gene and Verna (Engle) Collins on July 7, 1933. Rosa married Mr. J. D. Amos, August 8, 1953, they had three children; Danny, David and Vicky. Rosa was a homemaker and no stranger to hard work. She enjoyed working outdoors raising animals, working in the garden and flower beds, most of all raising chickens. Rosa had a special needs grandson; Kevin Gregg and she said many times God gave her a long life so she could help raise Kevin. Ms. Rosa had a deep love for gospel music. She was a dedicated listener to WBSA and enjoyed the prayer hour each day. She was a faithful listener to her brothers, Donald and Jackie Collins for 21 years on the Sunday morning broadcast of the Gospel Jubilee. Ms. Rosa touched the lives of both children and adults throughout her 87 years. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Special Thanks to Shepherds Cove Hospice.
