Robert Joseph Alexander

Robert Joseph Alexander, aged 84, passed away on July 31, 2024, in Attalla, Alabama. Born on March 11, 1940, Robert lived a vibrant life marked by his passions and the deep connections he forged with those around him. Known for his love of fishing, Robert could often be found at the river or creek, rod in hand, waiting for the next big catch. His stories, often recounted with a humorous twist and a twinkle in his eye, will be remembered by many. A true raconteur, he had a unique ability to weave tales that captivated his audience, making every gathering memorable. His distinctive style was further punctuated by his fondness for plaid, which became synonymous with his appearance. Robert leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter, survived by his children Glenda (Randy) Works, Janet, Bonnie, Tim, Chris (Natalie), Jim, and Sarah; siblings Thelma Ann, Evelyn, and Franklin; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, friends and family. Special mention goes to Whitney Works and her children, Gabraham Lincoln (Gabe), Dora (Zorah), and Tara (Cara), who, along with his daughter Glenda, Randy P, and Randy J, provided care and joy in his final days, and helped him keep 3 ways (Neapolitan ice cream), Ding Dongs, and Folgers in business. Also Thanks To Danny and his family, Jimmy Dale, Jeremy (Caitlin), Larry (Diana), Brandon, Ashton, Zayden, Brandon D, Teresa, James, Bo, Sharron (Pat),Vickie, Tammie, Laura, Bud and Stephen, who played significant roles at the end of his journey. He also leaves behind Courtney, Morgan, and Hayden, whom he helped raise as his own. Last of all his sweet pup, Susie. Robert was preceded in death by his sons Travis and Pete, daughters Sandy and Melinda, spouse Janice Alexander, and siblings Lenard, Theodore, Willie, Jack, Violet, Lula Mae, Amy, and Ezell. His parents, Willie and Mae, and three infant grandsons also predeceased him. A special thanks to all of ACG Hospice for their phenomenal care provided. Words can not express the gratitude we have for the love you showed our old man and the comfort you all helped to provide for him and us as well. A graveside service to honor and celebrate Robert's life will be Saturday, August 10, 2024 at 1 p.m. at Cave Springs Cemetery. His story, enriched by the many lives he touched, will continue to resonate with those who knew him, ensuring his memory lives on through the echoes of his tales and the ripple of his fishing line on the water.
