Walter Frank Golden

Walter “Frank” Golden of Attalla, Alabama passed away on March 19, 2023, surrounded by his family. He was a member of Bethlehem United Baptist Church for 56 years and served as a deacon for 43 of those years. He also served in the Chiros Prison Ministry for many years. He served 4 years in the United States Air Force. He retired from Gulf State Steel after 39 years. He was also a member of the Noccolula Civitan Club for many years serving as President and Vice President. Above all his biggest accomplishment was his loving devotion to his Savior, his family, church family and his community which continues to impact all those that were fortunate to know him in his life. He is survived by his loving wife, Paulette Golden, of 62 years. His children, Bonita (Bill) Ball, Kevin Golden, Rodney (Melissa) Golden, and Phillip Golden. His grandchildren Duane (Adrian) Ball, Lauren (Clay) Maddox, and Donovan Golden and his great-grandchildren Liam and Madeline Maddox. His siblings Freddy (Pamela) Golden, Vera Thompson, Joseph (Audrey) Golden, James (Wilda) Golden, Carolyn (Wade) Hutchens, Brother-in-law, Raymond Bowman and a host of nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his Father, Walter Golden Sr, Mother, Zelma Golden, Sister, Frances Bowman, Brother, Marcus Golden, and Brothers in law, Lynn Thompson and Robert Walker. The service will be held at Bethlehem United Baptist Church in Gallant, Alabama on Saturday, March 25, 2023. The visitation for family will be from 11:00-12:00 pm. Visitation for friends will be from 12:00-2:00 pm with the service following. There will be a graveside service after with a prayer from Donovan Golden. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in his honor to Bethlehem’s cemetery fund. Officiating the service will be Brother Clay Spears and Brother James O. Wallace. Pallbearers will be Greg Thompson, Danny Golden, Chris Golden, Heath Golden, Jim Tate, and Joel Bowman. Honorary Pallbearers will be Steve Tate, John Tate, Jason Golden, and Mark Golden along with the former and present deacons of Bethlehem.
