Herbert C. Battles, age 93 of Boaz passed away Sunday, January 30, 2022 at the Collinsville Nursing Home. His funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at Etowah Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow at Kyuka Cemetery. Rev. Phillip Battles and Rev. Susan Duncan will officiate the service. Music will be provided by the Sexton family. Pallbearers will be Nathan Battles, Blake Reeves, Dalton Reeves, Brandy Capps, Christopher Capps and Dale Duncan. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Payne and Jake Capps. Visitation for Mr. Battles will be from 10 until 11 before the service. He is survived by his son; Phillip Don Battles (Robin), daughter; Susan Battles Duncan (Dale), grandchildren; Nathan Battles and Brandy Duncan Capps (Christopher), great-grandchildren; Blake Reeves (Braylee), Dalton Reeves and Jake Capps, sisters-in-law; Dean Battles and Glenda Payne (Jerry) and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife; Ivaughn Battles, parents; Robert and Lillie Battles, step-mother; Lilar Battles, grandmother; Trissie Hill and brothers; Ralph Battles, Louie Battles and Horace Battles (Emma Ree).
