John 11:25-26 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Our loving Mother and faithful believer in the Lord Jesus, Mrs. Kathryn June Battles Campbell, 90, of Gadsden, Alabama, a longtime resident of Rainbow City and member of MeadowBrook Baptist Church passed away Friday, January 14, 2022. Funeral services will be conducted by Etowah Memorial Chapel on Friday, January 21, 2022 at Tabernacle Church, visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 a.m. and service from 11:00-12:00 p.m. Dr. Gary Ashley and the Reverend Tommy Marshall will officiate. Burial will be in Rainbow Memorial Gardens. As a faithful servant of the Lord Jesus, she partnered in ministry with her deceased husband Reverend Maurice Campbell for over 40 years. She loved and enjoyed being with her children and grandchildren. She instilled a spirit of fun and faith in them through many hours of play, laughter, stories, and tea parties. She never tired of hearing of all their escapades and accomplishments, always seeking to hear more of their lives. She was so very proud of each one of her babies. Nothing made her happier than traveling and touring with friends and family throughout the U.S., Europe, and the Holy Land. Mother had many friends and was active in the Ladies Red Hat society. As a resident for many years at Regency Pointe, she enjoyed the company and fellowship of other residents. As a dedicated Christian, she made application of the revelation and truths of the Bible. The day before she died, she sat with a big smile on her face, her last words to family were “Keep on Praying and Doing Good!” Our Mother was a glowing example of love, faith, and service. Mrs. Campbell (Mother) was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-five years, Reverend Maurice Campbell, parents Millard and Vesta Battles, sister Margaret Evelyn Battles, and brothers Emory and Owen Battles. She is survived by her sons, William Campbell, Jr. (Jackie) and Timothy L. Campbell (Laurie), grandchildren Joshua Campbell (Kristen), Emily Campbell Smith (Jeffrey) and Colonie Hughes (Daniel), step grandchildren David Duke (Dawnya), Eirene Jennings (Kevin), six great grandchildren, Kaylen Daniels, Evelyn Campbell, Caleb Campbell, Ethan Smith, Joseph Hughes, and Mercy Hughes, step grandchildren Isaac Duke, Kortlyn Duke, Nariah Hunter, Brayson Hunter, along with a number of cousins, nieces and nephews. Pall bearers will be family and friends. Special thanks are extended to Mother’s MeadowBrook Baptist Sunday School class, Dr. Iyer, her doctor of many years, and all who diligently visited and helped care for her. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Seven Springs Ministry (256-770-4089) or Love Your Neighbor Network (256-312-9677). Etowah Memorial Chapel Directing
