Floise D. Bryant

Mrs. Floise Oden Bryant went home to be with her Lord and Savior on October 9, 2022. During her final time here on earth she was cared for by her loving husband of 57 years, Delane Bryant. Floise was born July 7, 1946, to the parents of Susie Mae Holcombe Oden and Oval Curtis Oden of Attalla. She was preceded in death by her parents and her two brothers, Danny Joe Oden of Attalla and Lelaus Oden of Hollypond. Floise was a long-standing member of Pilgrim’s Rest Primitive Baptist Church in Attalla. She was a favorite Aunt to many of her family members and the rock of strength that shined as she was a consummate caregiver to her family. Floise was the proud mother of four beautiful children: Jason (Janice) of Huntsville; Jaran of Boaz, Danny of Boaz, and Suzanne of Birmingham. She was also blessed to have three precious grandchildren: Haley (Mike) Brunick, Hannah and Kaden all of Huntsville. She welcomed her first great grandchild Addison Mae Brunick in 2021. To say that Floise was an avid seamstress does not even begin to honor her talent. She sewed her daughter’s childhood clothes, baton uniforms, her beautiful wedding dress and the bridesmaid dresses of her daughter, daughter in love and other family members. As her children grew up, she was always sewing or crocheting something beautiful. Her creativity expanded to crafts, painting, and horticulture. Floise had the greenest of green thumbs and could grow any plant on God’s green earth. Her love of growing was passed down to her from her mother, Susie Mae, and Floise soon passed it on to her own children and grandchildren. She was proud to teach them and watch as they learned the art she had so eloquently mastered herself. Her love of God’s beautiful gifts was abundantly clear as she had a true servant’s heart. She was always there to lend a hand, a shoulder or just her compassionate gift of listening, to anyone in need. Floise’s passing has left a very empty void in the hearts of her loved ones, but the memories she created while here on earth will forever be cherished, as she was truly one of a kind. The family would like to extend a deep hearted appreciation to the uncompromising care that Floise received over the past year from Enhabit Home Hospice. Specifically, Lindsay Martin and Christie Potridge were very instrumental in comforting both Floise and her immediate family during this most difficult time of transition. Sincere love and thanks to all those special people who visited, cared for, cooked for, sat with and most importantly, loved Floise! Your kindness will always be remembered. A celebration of Floise’s life will be held at Etowah Memorial Chapel on Monday, October 17th. The family will welcome friends at 10:00am and services will begin at 12:00pm. Floise will be laid to rest alongside her parents at Rainbow Memorial Gardens immediately following the chapel service.
