Robbie June Rowan King

Robbie June Rowan King went home to be with Jesus on June 1st, 2021, at the age of 85. She passed away in her home surrounded by her family and friends. Robbie was a lifelong member of New Union First Congregational Methodist Church where she remained very active until her health started to decline. Those who knew her well, knew she was famous for Robbie June’s Rules. Robbie had rules for everything in life, like how to act during a stressful situation, how to act in church, how to set the table, and even how to act when you visit someone in the hospital. Her family and friends know the rules well and follow them most of the time. She loved to travel and spent many miles on the road with J.L. and friends. Robbie was a natural born caregiver. She lovingly cared for her parents and many others as they aged. Child care was never an issue in the King family because everyone knew Grandmother was going to take care of the children. Robbie is preceded in death by her parents Pat and Vennie Rowan, Brother Wayne Rowan and Sisters Jannette Rowan and Jackie Morrison and Daughter-in-law, Regina King. She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Mr. Jessie L. King, Son, Sanford King, Daughters, Donna K. Duncan (Dennis) and Wendy K. Gibbs (Robbie) Grandchildren: Jeremy Duncan (Amy), Jake King (Breonna), Denise Salters (Wallis), Blayne Gibbs, Dylan Duncan Great Grandchildren: Alyssa Duncan, Sam King, Duncan Salters Chosen Children: Jimmy Ray and Stella Gillilan, Amanda Howard Malone (Joey) Chosen Grandchild and Great Grandchild, Jessica Gillilan Edmondson (Blake), Emily Edmondson Robbie is also survived by a host of loving nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held on June 4th, 2021, at Etowah Memorial Funeral Chapel. Family will have a private viewing at 2:00 pm. Friends will be received from 2:30-4:00. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 4:00pm. Interment will take place at Hill Crest Cemetery in Boaz, AL. The funeral will be officiated by Reverend Jason King, Reverend Kerry Bryant, and Reverend Shannon Black Pallbearers will be: Jake King, Jeremy Duncan, Dylan Duncan, Wallis Salters, Reggie Rowan, Patrick Rowan, Kevin Rowan, Luke Rowan Etowah Memorial Chapel Directing
