Trey Ayers

Trey Ayers, 60, passed away on February 1, 2026. Born on December 12, 1965, in Fort Thomas, Kentucky, Trey moved to Albertville, Alabama, in 1985. It was there he built his early adult life, married, and began raising his family. In 1995, he moved to Sardis, Alabama, where he continued to invest in his family, church, and community for the remainder of his life. Trey was a devoted Christian, husband, father, and proud Papa. His love for Christ was the foundation of his life. He faithfully served as a deacon at Cornerstone Baptist Church, where he worshiped and ministered for many years. Trey’s faith was evident in the way he loved others, offered encouragement, and lived with joy. He dedicated 30 years of service to MUB, working diligently and forming lasting friendships along the way. Trey also had a deep love for Auburn and was one of their most loyal fans. For 30 years, he poured his heart into coaching girls softball, investing in the lives of countless young athletes, teaching them not only the game but also character and perseverance. Known for his sense of humor, Trey was a true jokester who loved to kid around and make people laugh. His playful spirit, warm smile, and generous heart will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Above all, he loved his family and cherished every moment spent with them. Trey is survived by his loving wife, Teresa Ayers; his children, Paul Ayers, Blue Ayers (wife Christy), Phillip Miller (fiancé Savannah Parker), AJ Ayers, Miley Ayers, and Kobie Ayers; and his treasured grandchildren, Finley Ayers, Isleigh Ayers, Paislee Ayers, and Everly Ayers. He is also survived by his sisters, Anna Bergeron and Becky Motes (husband Ronnie). He was preceded in death by his mother, June Ayers; his father, Paul Ayers; his sister, Jackie Edwards; and his brother, Jim Beach. The family will receive friends Wednesday, February 4th, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Cornerstone Baptist Church. Friends can visit also from 12:00 p.m. until service time Thursday, February 5th, at 2:00 p.m., also at Cornerstone Baptist Church, with Bro. David Lackey, Bro. Kevin Stephens, and Bro. Terry Gilbreath officiating. Pallbearers will be Ron Engle, Carson Butler, Shane Carroll, Brent Naylor, Kevin Huff, Lamar Gilbreath, Justin Jacobs, and Ryan McCoy. Honorary bearers will be Ronnie Motes, Robert Lang, Darrell Petty, Stan Stephens and Dr. Etagbo Eta. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in memory of Trey Ayers to Cornerstone Baptist Church in Sardis Alabama. Though Trey will be deeply missed, his family rejoices in knowing he is home with his Savior. His legacy of faith, love, laughter, and devotion will live on in all who were blessed to know him. Arrangements are entrusted to Etowah Memorial Chapel.
